The Network Regulation North Branch is responsible for the application of the gas code and electricity rules to transmission businesses. Its work includes regulatory principles, revenue caps, reference tariffs and assessing access undertakings.
The Network Regulation South Branch has responsibility for coordinating and developing input into legislative and rule change processes, the transfer of distribution functions to the AER, developing a relationship with the AEMC and providing input into electricity merger issues.
The Markets Branch performs the market monitoring and enforcement functions that were previously undertaken by NECA. It also has a role in energy-related authorisations.
