Additional reporting requirements guidelines

On 1 July 2005, the AER assumed NECA’s responsibility under clause 8.7.2 for establishing reporting requirements for NEMMCO and registered participants, and procedures and standards in relation to information and data it receives.

Following consultation in 2000, NECA published guidelines on the exercise of its powers under clause 8.7.2(g) to impose additional requirements, procedures or standards.

Those guidelines are available to download below.

Separately, NECA established an information protocol with NEMMCO setting out the information and data NEMMCO will provide as the basis for NECA’s market surveillance and monitoring functions. The protocol was continually reviewed.

Under the protocol, NEMMCO:

  • provides a wide range of publicly available and confidential data collected and collated into a form suitable for NECA to discharge its monitoring obligations
  • following consultation, will provide any additional information relating to a particular area of NEMMCO’s operations, as NECA requires and
  • provide any assistance or advice reasonably requested in relation to analysis of the information provided.
