On 1 July 2005 the AER assumed the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission's (ACCC) responsibilities for the regulation of transmission revenues in the National Electricity Market. Under clause 6.2.4 of the National Electricity Rules, the regulator may establish services standards for electricity transmission network service providers. The service standards guidelines outline the regulatory framework through which service standards measures are applied to transmission network service providers.
The service standards guidelines were published 12 November 2003. The guidelines and the related process are attached below.
