GasNet was previously called GPU GasNet (and before that, Transmission Pipelines Australia). The system was previously called the Principal Transmission System (PTS) and the Western Transmission System (WTS). Since they were joined together in 1999, GasNet has referred to the combined pipeline as 'The GasNet System' while VENCorp has referred to it as the 'Principal Transmission System'.
