The Australian Energy Market Agreement provides that the AER, ACCC and AEMC will enter into a memorandum of understanding (MOU), to be endorsed by the Ministerial Council on Energy (MCE).
The MOU was agreed to by the three agencies on 7 October 2005 and endorsed by the MCE on 4 November 2005.
The MOU contains provisions relating to cooperation, consultation, information sharing, confidentiality and regular contact between the agencies at a senior level.
