The AER performs its regulatory functions under the national electricity law and the national electricity rules and the national gas law and national gas rule. The national electricity law and the national gas law are available on the South Australian legislation website.
The national gas code was relevant for the regulation of gas transmission and distribution pipelines prior to 1 July 2008. Certain provisions of the national gas code are still relevant under the transitional provisions of the national gas law and national gas rules. The code is available on the website of the Code Registrar (including the National Gas Pipelines Advisory Committee (NGPAC)).
