Clause 6A.21 of the National Electricity Rules requires the AER to develop transmission ring-fencing guidelines. In August 2005 the AER adopted the Transmission ring-fencing guidelines and Transmission ring-fencing guidelines - Reporting guidelines (previously issued by the ACCC) when it released its Compendium of electricity transmission regulatory guidelines.
