Annual compliance under the NGL

Under the NGL the AER has established an annual compliance process which is a mechanism designed for all service providers to report compliance with their obligations under the NGL and National Gas Rules (NGR) including structural and operational separation (ring fencing). This process is similar to the reporting process that was previously undertaken by the ACCC (for transmission pipelines) and by some of the state and territory regulators (for distribution pipelines) for assessing service providers’ ring fencing compliance under the National Third Party Access Code for Natural Gas Pipeline Systems (Gas code).

The AER requires service providers to report their annual compliance with the NGL and NGR under the Annual compliance order.
