AusNet Services' cost allocation method (CAM) governs the manner in which AusNet Services is allowed to allocate costs to the distribution services that it provides. The allocation of costs between the services is required to accurately represent the costs incurred in providing those services. This prevents cross-subsidisation between the distribution and other services that AusNet Services provides.
On 8 September 2014 AusNet Services applied to amend their CAM. This was because there has been major changes in AusNet’s organisational structure. The CAM was further revised in November 2014 to reflect changes in service classification which will apply in the next regulatory control period. The AER approved the amendments on 19 December 2014. The CAM will apply from 1 January 2016.
