Overview
On 16 December 2022, Energex submitted a cost pass through application to the AER, seeking to recover costs in relation to the widespread flooding which occurred throughout South East Queensland during the period 22 February to 7 March 2022. A period of severe weather caused significant and widespread flooding which severely impacted Energex's electricity distribution network.
Energex is seeking an increase in allowed revenue of $17.03 million in 2024-25 to commence recovery of the costs arising from the 2022 flood event. Energex estimates approval of this cost pass through would lead to an increase in average residential customer bills of approximately $8.13 in 2024-25.
Consultation
We invite interested parties to make submissions on Energex's 2022 flood cost pass through application by Friday, 10 February 2023.
