Australian Energy Reform

The Australian energy sector has undergone a significant transformation since the commencement of reforms in the mid-1990s. The reforms have been a major success, with both the electricity and gas industries performing far better now than they did previously. Significant challenges are on the horizon with clean energy targets and emissions trading. The reforms that have been undertaken have left Australia in a good position to meet these challenges.
