Summary:
The AER is undertaking a review of the revenue regulation rules and improvements that can be made to ensure that consumers are not paying more than is necessary for a safe and reliable supply of energy. The rule change proposal will focus on how the regulator can ensure that the allowances for the network businesses are no more than necessary. The AER will also examine ways to ensure that businesses are not rewarded for unnecessary and excessive overspends.
