On 1 March 2013, the AER approved an application from Infigen Energy Holdings Pty Ltd (IEH) for electricity retailer authorisation under the National Energy Retail Law. IEH is authorised to retail electricity as and when the National Energy Retail Law is adopted in each participating jurisdiction.
IEH is a wholly owned subsidiary of Infigen Energy Limited (Infigen), which is a specialist renewable energy business that develops, builds, owns and operates wind and solar farms across Australia. Infigen intends to expand its business through IEH and retail electricity to large customers only.
Change of registered business name
On 31 May 2021 Infigen Energy Holdings Pty Limited changed its name to Iberdrola Australia Holdings Pty Limited.
Surrender of authorisation
On 16 August 2024, the AER approved an application from Iberdrola Australia Holdings Pty Limited to surrender its electricity retailer authorisation.
The surrender took effect on 22 August 2024.
