The Registrant’s exemption from the requirement to register as a network service provider and the operation of Chapter 5 of the NER has now come into effect. The exemption was granted under clause 2.5.1 of the NER in accordance with the AER’s Electricity NSP Registration Exemption Guideline (Network Exemption Guideline) and is subject to a number of conditions.

The exemption applies to energy sales to residential customers. It requires exemption holders to join their state or territory energy ombudsman scheme.
ORIGIN ENERGY COMMERCIAL EMBEDDED NETWORKS PTY LTD / ABN 68 136 602 947 registered as an additional registrant to this exemption. This exemption as it applies to ORIGIN ENERGY COMMERCIAL EMBEDDED NETWORKS PTY LTD takes effect from 1 October 2026.
