The Registrant’s exemption from the requirement to register as a network service provider and the operation of Chapter 5 of the NER has now come into effect. The exemption was granted under clause 2.5.1 of the NER in accordance with the AER’s Electricity NSP Registration Exemption Guideline (Network Exemption Guideline), and is subject to a number of conditions.

The exemption applies to energy sales to residential customers. It requires exemption holders to join their state or territory energy ombudsman scheme.
From 18 September 2023 until 25 February 2026 Origin Energy Electricity Limited / ABN 33 071 052 287 was registered as an additional registrant for this exemption. This exemption as it applied to Origin Energy Electricity Limited was effective from 18 September 2023 to 25 February 2026.
SUPA ENERGY PTY LIMITED / ABN 55 657 976 086 registered as an additional registrant to this exemption. This exemption as it applies to SUPA ENERGY PTY LIMITED takes effect from 25 February 2026.
