The Registrant’s exemption from the requirement to register as a network service provider and the operation of Chapter 5 of the NER has now come into effect. The exemption was granted under clause 2.5.1 of the NER in accordance with the AER’s Network Exemptions Guideline and is subject to a number of conditions.

The exemption applies to energy sales to residential customers. It requires exemption holders to join their state or territory energy ombudsman scheme.
ACTIVE UTILITIES PTY LTD / ABN 78 116 498 803 registered as an additional registrant to this exemption. This exemption as it applies to ACTIVE UTILITIES PTY LTD takes effect from 25 March 2026.
