Due to reforms, the AER is now responsible for determining the regulatory treatment of gas pipelines. The AER published a final Guide on 12 September 2023.

We publish a new Instrument every 4 years that will bind all regulatory determinations in the subsequent 4 years.

On 11 November 2021, the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE) lodged an application for the AER to consider whether the scheme established under section 58(1) of the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act (NSW) 2020 (the Act) is a jurisdictional scheme.
