- Accepting submissions
On 31 January 2020, the Victorian distribution business, AusNet Services, submitted its revenue proposal to the AER. The proposal sets out the revenue AusNet Services proposes to collect from its customers through distribution charges from 1 July 2021 to 31 June 2026. Due to the implications of COVID-19, the date for submissions on this proposal and our proposed negotiated distribution services criteria has been extended to 3 June 2020. Please email submissions to VIC2021email@example.com.
To accommodate the implications of COVID-19, the Victorian electricity determination 2021-26 took place in an alternate form. To facilitate engagement on the distribution business proposals and the AER issues paper we have published stakeholder presentations and responses to questions received.
On 31 January 2019, the AER published a replacement Framework and Approach (F&A) to apply to AusNet Services' 2021-26 distribution determination process.
The Victorian Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change has written to the AER and the Victorian distribution businesses indicating the government’s intention to change the timing of the annual Victorian electricity and gas network prices changes. The change would bring Victoria into alignment with the other NEM states to operate on a financial – rather than calendar – year basis. The intention is for this change to come into effect for the next regulatory control period. This will mean extending the current regulatory period by 6 months. Whilst the change still requires passage through Victorian parliament to give effect through legislation, we understand that the next regulatory control period will commence on 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2026.
