The AER’s Contract Market Monitoring Portal (Portal) is now live.
Invitations to create accounts will be sent out from 10 March 2026 and we will commence accepting submissions from onboarded users from 16 March 2026.
The Portal has been created to facilitate the secure submission of contracts and information required under compulsory Market Monitoring Information Notices (MMINs) and Market Monitoring Information Orders (MMIOs). These MMINs and MMIOs form part of the AER’s expanded functions in monitoring and reporting on wholesale gas markets, and electricity and gas contract markets, as outlined in the Wholesale Market Monitoring Guideline.
In developing the Portal we have taken into account stakeholder feedback regarding information security and user experience.
Class Members subject to MMIO-ELEC-2025-02 will be compulsorily required to make their initial submission of information via the Portal by 31 March 2026.
Class Members who require access to the portal should provide their details to contractmarketmonitoring
aer [dot] gov [dot] au (contractmarketmonitoring[at]aer[dot]gov[dot]au).
Today we also publish the Portal User Guide, which provides step by step instructions on the use of the Portal for submissions to the AER.
