The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) has released its final decision and distribution determinations for Energex and Ergon Energy, the Queensland electricity distributors. The decision and determinations cover the regulatory control period 1 July 2010 to 30 June 2015 and set the revenue that each of the Queensland distributors are able to recover for the provision of electricity distribution services.
Energex and Ergon Energy are each required to submit a pricing proposal to the AER by 27 May 2010, indicating how the required revenue allowances contained in the final decision will be recovered from customers in accordance with the National Electricity Rules (NER). The AER will assess the pricing proposals in accordance with Part I of Chapter 6 of the NER. Provided the pricing proposals submitted by the Queensland electricity distributors are compliant with the NER, the AER is scheduled to make its determination on network tariffs in the first half of June 2010.
The final decision, distribution determinations and reports prepared by the AER's consultants are now available on the AER's website.
