FCAS prices above $5000/MW - 21 to 22 April 2010 (SA)

The AER is required to publish a report whenever the spot price for electricity exceeds $5000/MWh. It also has an obligation to publish a report when the ancillary service price exceeds $5000/MW for a sustained period. These reports identify and describe the factors contributing to the high prices, including rebidding, network issues or changes to demand and generator availability.
