Murray Valley Distribution Network was originally granted a 5 year Category 3 non-scheme pipeline exemption under Part 23 on 13 December 2017. On 30 November 2022, this exemption was extended until 12 December 2027.
Gas pipeline regulation reforms to the National Gas Law and National Gas Rules were proclaimed in March 2023.Murray Valley Distribution Network's Category 3 exemption under Part 23 was taken to be a Category 2 exemption under Part 10 as the AER was satisfied its maximum daily capacity is less than 10TJ/day.
