Wickham Point Pipeline and Weddell Lateral was originally granted a 5 year Category 2 non-scheme pipeline exemption under Part 23 on 3 January 2018. On 30 November 2022, this exemption was extended until 3 January 2028.
Gas pipeline regulation reforms to the National Gas Law and National Gas Rules were proclaimed in March 2023. Wickham Point Pipeline and Weddell Lateral's Category 2 exemption under Part 23 was taken to be a Category 2 exemption under Part 10 as it is a single user pipeline.
