The Brooklyn to Altona (Qenos) Pipeline was originally granted a 5 year Category 2 non-scheme pipeline exemption under Part 23 on 13 December 2017. On 13 December 2022, this was extended until 12 December 2027.
Gas pipeline regulation reforms to the National Gas Law and National Gas Rules were proclaimed in March 2023. Brooklyn to Altona (Qenos) Pipeline's Category 2 exemption under Part 23 was taken to be a Category 2 exemption under Part 10 as it is a single user pipeline.
