On 7 December 2017, GLNG Gas Transmission Pipeline was granted non-scheme Category 1 and Category 2 exemptions under Part 23 of the NGR until 13 July 2030.
Gas pipeline regulation reforms to the National Gas Law and National Gas Rules were proclaimed in March 2023. GLNG Gas Transmission Pipeline's Category 2 exemption under Part 23 was taken to be a Category 1 exemption under Part 10 as it is a no third-party access pipeline.
