Comet Ridge to Wallumbilla Pipeline is a transmission pipeline owned and operated by GLNG Operations Pty Limited (GLNG) which is a joint venture between Santos, Petronas, Total and Korea Gas Corporation.
On 18 January 2018, Comet Ridge to Wallumbilla Pipeline was originally granted 5 year Category 1 and Category 2 non-scheme pipeline exemptions under Part 23 . On 30 November 2022, these exemptions were extended until 18 January 2028.
Gas pipeline regulation reforms to the National Gas Law and National Gas Rules were proclaimed in March 2023. Comet Ridge to Wallumbilla Pipeline's Category 2 exemption under Part 23 was taken to be a Category 1 exemption under Part 10 as it is a no third party access pipeline.
