The Registrant’s exemption from the requirement to register as a network service provider and the operation of Chapter 5 of the NER has now come into effect. The exemption was granted under clause 2.5.1 of the NER in accordance with the AER’s Electricity NSP Registration Exemption Guideline (Network Exemption Guideline), and is subject to a number of conditions.

Exemption class applicable conditions
The exemption applies to energy sales to residential customers. It requires exemption holders to join their state or territory energy ombudsman scheme.
From 26 February 2023 until 19 March 2026 Origin Energy Electricity Limited / ABN 33 071 052 287 was registered as an additional registrant for this exemption. This exemption as it applied to Origin Energy Electricity Limited was effective from 26 February 2023 until 2 February 2026.
THE EMBEDDED NETWORKS COMPANY PTY LTD / ABN 32 119 677 431 registered as an additional registrant to this exemption. This exemption as it applies to THE EMBEDDED NETWORKS COMPANY PTY LTD takes effect from 19 March 2026.
