On 6 December 2024, ARC Pipeline Pty Ltd was first granted a Category 1 exemption under Part 10 of the NGR for the Atlas to Reedy Creek (ARC) Pipeline as it was not a third party access pipeline.
In June 2025, APA Group acquired ARC Pipeline Pty Ltd from Senex CSG Assets Pty Ltd. This acquisition meant that APA Group, in effect also acquired the ARC Pipeline.
Following this ownership change, on 30 June 2025, ARC Pipeline Pty Ltd (now owned by APA Group):
- sought a revocation of its Category 1 exemption under Part 10 of the NGR for the ARC Pipeline; and
- applied for a Category 2 exemption under Part 10 of the NGR as ARC Pipleine.
On 22 August 2025, the AER:
- revoked ARC Pipeline Pty Ltd's Category 1 exemption under Part 10 of the NGR for the ARC Pipeline as it no longer met the criteria of not being a third party access pipeline; and
- granted ARC Pipeline Pty Ltd a Category 2 exemption under Part 10 of the NGR for the ARC Pipeline as it is a single user pipeline. This exemption is valid until 22 August 2030.
