The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) and the Department of Industry, Science and Resources (DISR) are leading a combined review of the Australian Domestic Gas Security Mechanism (ADGSM), Gas Market Code and the Heads of Agreement with east coast liquified natural gas exporters.
The review will examine the effectiveness of the existing mechanisms and identify possible improvements. The review will also consider long-term policy settings and reforms for Australia’s gas markets to support investment and energy security for Australia.
The AER made a submission to the review on 22 August 2025.
