Draft amendments

The AER has published proposed amendments to the Forecasting Best Practice (FBP) guidelines to improve reporting flexibility and implement changes arising from recent Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC) rules changes related to the Integrated System Plan (ISP).

We are consulting under the expedited process in clause 8.9.3 of the National Electricity Rules (NER), which applies to non‑material proposals that do not significantly impact the National Electricity Market (NEM) or its participants. We consider the amendments to be non‑material, as they affect only the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) and do not introduce new requirements. Instead, they provide AEMO with additional flexibility in meeting existing obligations.
