On 19 February 2026, the Australian Energy Market Commission published a draft determination and more preferable draft rule to enable the timely application of a transmission service target performance incentive scheme (STPIS). The draft rule is in response to a rule change request from the Australian Energy Regulator.
Our submission notes support for the preferred draft rule because it would increase our ability to respond to changing circumstances by allowing a revised STPIS to be applied during a Transmission Network Service Provider's regulatory control period. However our submission notes some aspects of the preferred draft rule warrant further consideration.
