On 5 March 2026, the AEMC published a draft determination proposing to make a more preferable draft rule to improve the existing processes of retailers and distributors in registering and serving customers with life support equipment at their premises.
The AER made a submission in response to the draft determination on 16 April 2026. The submission notes life support obligations are a critical consumer protection and an enduring compliance and enforcement priority for the AER.
