On 18 September 2026 the AER published the draft DMO guidelines for consultation.

We invite interested parties to provide written submissions on the draft DMO guidelines by close of business on 16 October 2026. Submissions should be emailed to dmoaer [dot] gov [dot] au (dmo[at]aer[dot]gov[dot]au).

We prefer that all submissions are made publicly available to support an informed and transparent consultation process. We will treat submissions as public documents unless otherwise requested. All non-confidential submissions will be published on the AER website.

During the consultation period, stakeholders will also have opportunities to meet with AER staff, including through workshops and bilateral meetings, to discuss the draft DMO guidelines and clarify specific matters that may inform a written submission.
