The AER has granted an extension to Essential Energy under clause 6.6.1(k) of the National Electricity Rules, to allow a pass through application associated with the flood event on the North Coast of New South Wales to be submitted by 31 December 2022. The AER considered there was sufficient difficulty in assessing or quantifying the effect of the relevant pass through event within the normal 90 business day period.

The granting of this extension has no implications for the AER’s assessment of the merits of any pass through application which may be lodged.
