Application

Ergon Energy has submitted an application for a waiver from clauses 3.1(b) and 4.2.3 of the Ring-fencing Guideline (Electricity distribution).

This waiver would allow Ergon Energy to provide competitive services using its Microgrid and Isolated System Test (MIST) Facility. This would allow other entities to lease the MIST Facility to test the integration of consumer energy resources, individual battery and inverter systems and control systems.

The AER has granted a limited interim waiver to Ergon Energy enabling the MIST Facility to be used in specific circumstances while the AER considers the application in full.
