On 11 November 2024, Ergon Energy submitted an application for a waiver from clause 4.2.3 of the  Ring-fencing Guideline (Electricity distribution) in order to continue to provide a connection service to Hayman Island.

Ergon Energy requested this new waiver so that they could continue to use their branding when providing an undersea cable connection between their regulated distribution network and a customer on Hayman Island.
