On 8 June 2022, the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) approved an electricity retailer authorisation application from Ampol Energy (Retail) Pty Ltd (Ampol Energy Retail) under the National Energy Retail Law (Retail Law).
Background
On 31 January 2022 the AER accepted an application from Ampol Energy Retail for an electricity retailer authorisation under the Retail Law.
Submissions on Ampol Energy Retail's application closed on Wednesday 2 March 2022. No submissions were received.
Surrender of authorisation
On 5 August 2025, the AER published an application from Ampol Energy Retail to surrender its electricity retailer authorisation.
We are now seeking submissions from interested stakeholders on Ampol Energy Retail’s surrender application by 2 September 2025.
