On 21 July 2026, we published a consultation paper to initiate consultation on the 2027 customer export curtailment value (CECV) methodology, which will review of the original methodology published in 2022.
The consultation paper seeks stakeholder feedback on:
The AER invites interested stakeholders to make a submission on the consultation paper by Tuesday, 25 August.
We prefer all submissions to be provided electronically in Microsoft Word or another text-readable format.
We also prefer submissions to be publicly available to support an informed, transparent and robust consultation process.
Accordingly, submissions will be treated as public documents and posted on the AER's website, unless prior arrangements are made with the AER to treat the submission, or portions of it, as confidential.

Feedback we receive in response to this paper will inform our draft report, which we expect to release in early 2027.
On 21 July 2026, we published a Notice of Extension under clause 8.9.2(d) of the National Electricity Rules to publish the draft 2027 CECV Methodology report.
The revised date to publish the draft report is expected to be 26 February 2027.
