Consultation paper

On 19 November 2019, the AER released its consultation paper Assessing Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Integration Expenditure. Our consultation paper outlines the issues related to assessing proposed DER integration related expenditure and provides stakeholders with the opportunity to express their views.

Update - 29 November 2019

We have clarified a clerical error in the text supporting Figure 1 discussing the uptake of solar PV installations. It is now stated in the revised text that solar PV has grown to 10 million kW of installed capacity in 2018.

Consultation

In response to stakeholder submissions from January 2020, the AER commissioned the CSIRO and CutlerMerz to conduct a study into potential methodologies for determining the valuing of DER (VaDER).

Stakeholders were invited to attend two public forums in mid-September 2020, which provided an overview of the draft VaDER report and an opportunity to ask questions to help inform their submissions. These submissions are provided below.
