We are reviewing our compliance procedures and guidelines. Submissions on the draft Guidelines are invited from interested stakeholders by 19 April 2024.

The AER Compliance Procedures and Guidelines provide guidance and information to service providers about their legislative and reporting requirements.

On 21 November 2024, we completed a review of the Cost Benefit Analysis guidelines and Regulatory Investment Test application guidelines and instruments.

The AER has updated the contribution determination guideline to introduce some minor changes to the process for NSW scheme entities to submit input data.

Due to reforms, the AER is now responsible for determining the regulatory treatment of gas pipelines. The AER published a final Guide on 12 September 2023.

The AER has reviewed the revenue determination guideline for non-contestable infrastructure projects to improve the efficiency of the process.

The Networks Information Requirements Review is about driving improvements in the quality of the information about regulated networks that we use and share.

The gas pipeline information disclosure guidelines, price reporting guidelines and accompanying templates are required under the new Part 10 & 18A of the NGR.

The Export service incentive scheme allows DNSPs to propose bespoke incentives related to export services based on their network circumstances, customer preferences and evidence-based performance data.

The AER has been consulting on its approach to incentivising and measuring export service performance.

The Rate of Return Instrument (the Instrument) sets out the approach by which we will estimate the rate of return, and comprises the return on debt and the return on equity, as well as the value of imputation credits. We publish a new Instrument every 4 years that will bind all regulatory determinations in the subsequent 4 years.

The AER undertook a review on the Value of Network Resilience to address electricity supply outages lasting longer than 12 hours (prolonged outages).
