On 30 July 2015, the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) accepted an application from Novion Property Group Pty Ltd for an individual exemption from the requirement to hold a retailer authorisation under the National Energy Retail Law.
This application was withdrawn prior to approval and a different legal entity, Vicinity Asset Operations Pty Ltd, applied for the individual exemption. Vicinity Asset Operations was formed from a merger between Novion Property Group Pty Ltd and Federation Centres. Vicinity Asset Operations Pty Ltd application was received on 4 February 2016.
On 24 May 2016, Vicinity registered an R1 retail exemption for this site upon obtaining the explicit informed consent of all tenants.
