Background
The Forecasting Best Practice guidelines set out requirements for the Australian Energy Market Operator’s (AEMO) forecasting for reliability assessments and the Integrated System Plan (ISP).
The review is targeted at improving the efficiency of compliance reporting processes that were identified during previous ISP cycles. This targeted review also provides an opportunity to implement changes identified previously to better align the Forecasting Best Practice guidelines with recent Australian Energy Market Commission rule changes.
As the amendments do not introduce new requirements or materially impact the operation of the National Electricity Market, we have considered them to be non‑material proposals and initiated an expedited review under clause 8.9.3 of the National Electricity Rules (NER).
