On 22 May 2026, the Australian Energy Regulator published an application from ZEN Energy Retail Pty Ltd to transfer the ZEN Energy Retail electricity authorisation to ZEN Energy Retail Holdings Pty Ltd under the National Energy Retail Law (Retail Law).
Invitation for submissions
The AER is now seeking submissions from interested stakeholders on the ZEN Energy Retail application to transfer ZEN Energy Retail’s electricity authorisation to ZEN Energy Retail Holdings by Friday 19 June 2026.
Submissions should be emailed to General Manager, Compliance and Enforcement at AERAuthorisations
aer [dot] gov [dot] au (AERAuthorisations[at]aer[dot]gov[dot]au) with the following email subject title: ZEN Energy Retail Pty Ltd - Application for ZEN Energy Retail electricity retailer authorisation transfer to ZEN Energy Retail Holdings Pty Ltd.

The AER prefers that all submissions be sent in electronic format in Microsoft Word or other text readable document form publicly available to facilitate an informed, transparent and robust consultation process. Accordingly, submissions will be treated as public documents and posted on the AER's website, unless prior arrangements are made with the AER to treat the submission, or portions of it, as confidential. Those wishing to submit confidential information are requested to
- clearly identify the information that is the subject of the confidentiality claim; and
- provide a non-confidential version of the submission
