On 27 August 2014, Allgas submitted a negative cost pass through application to the AER to return costs to customers following the repeal of the carbon tax on 17 July 2014.
The application proposed removing the carbon tax component from its approved reference tariffs for the 2015-16 regulatory year, resulting in a negative pass through amount of $1,234,139. It also proposed returning $259,475 in previously over-recovered carbon tax revenues to customers.
On 19 May 2015, the AER Board determined that a negative carbon pass through event had occurred and approved the proposed pass through amounts. The approved negative cost pass through amounts will be returned to customers in the form of lower reference tariffs in 2015–16.
