The AER has prepared a consultation Issues Paper for consideration, which poses a range of questions interested parties can consider when providing feedback. 

Stakeholders should consider this Issues Paper in conjunction with Ausgrid’s trial waiver application.

The questions in this document are only provided as a guide and to help stakeholders explore the issues and are not mandatory.

The AER invites stakeholders and the public to have their say on this proposal. Either through a written submission or by attending one of the stakeholder workshops.

Stakeholders were invited to lodge submissions to this consultation by 16 September 2025.

Submissions will be made publicly available where possible.

To facilitate discussions, three stakeholder workshops were held during the public consultation period, with a workshop for each of the following groups of stakeholders: 

• Monday 25 August 10-12:00pm Networks and network advocacy groups
• Tuesday 26 August 10-12:00pm Retailers, aggregators and advocacy groups
• Wednesday 27 August 10-12:00pm Government, consumer advocates and consumers. 

In particular, we sought to seek the views of customers identified within the targeted trial areas.
