On 30 June 2026, we published our preliminary position paper for Transgrid’s System Strength Project revenue determination for the 2026–31 regulatory period. 

Our preliminary position paper follows consultation on Transgrid’s revenue proposal and provides an early indication of our assessment. Our preliminary positions are informed by stakeholder submissions and highlight areas of Transgrid’s proposal which we are likely to not accept or consider would benefit from focused feedback from stakeholders. Our assessment identifies risk and labour and indirect costs as the two key focus issues for stakeholder consideration and feedback. 

We hosted an online public forum to allow stakeholders the opportunity to ask questions on Transgrid’s revenue proposal and the issues we raised in our preliminary position paper before submissions close. The public forum was held on 16 July 2026. The presentation slides are available below.

Interested stakeholders were invited to make submissions on our preliminary position paper by 28 July 2026. We received three submissions in total, including one late submission from Louise Benjamin and Gavin Dufty.
