On 21 July 2026, we published a consultation paper to initiate consultation on the 2027 customer export curtailment value (CECV) methodology, which will review of the original methodology published in 2022.

The consultation paper seeks stakeholder feedback on:

• whether, and how, CECVs could measure flexible demand and additional value streams.
• how CECVs should be applied and set at an appropriate level of granularity and when they should be updated.

We invited written submissions on the CECV issues paper. Submissions closed on Tuesday 25th August 2026. We received four late submissions. 

On 21 July 2026, we published a Notice of Extension under clause 8.9.2(d) of the National Electricity Rules to publish the draft 2027 CECV Methodology report.

The revised date to publish the draft report is expected to be 26 February 2027.
