The AER has considered applications from four retailers to include additional messages, not required by the Better Bills Guideline, among Tier 1 information (or on the front page) on their revised customer bills.
Applications from Red Energy, Lumo Energy and Momentum Energy were rejected in full.
Momentum Energy’s application related to additional information to be included below the better offer message for plans with the same name. The AER made a decision under section 37 of the Better Bills Guideline to ensure a consistent retailer approach and give more clarity to customers
Parts of an application from AGL Energy were approved. The approved additions relate to minor clarifying text to the better offer message. The rejected additions included certification logos, loyalty program tracking boxes and other proposed text to the better offer message.
