DMS contacts

Happy New Year. I hope that you all had a restful and enjoyable break.

I am writing to you to summarise the year and provide you with a chance to contribute your thoughts to any matters you would like to see addressed for 2011.

Summary of 2010

We had two matters for which compensation was awarded from the Participant Compensation Fund:

  • AGL and AEMO (June 2010)
  • Synergen and AEMO (Sept 2010) - see the full details under DRP Determinations

There were no disputes other than requests for compensation.

Training and discussion amongst DMS contacts took place at a DMS workshop conducted in Brisbane on 31 May 2010.

Training and discussion amongst DMS contacts and Gas contacts took place at a workshop held in Melbourne on 28 June 2010.

There were a number of changes to the DMS contacts and these have been updated on the web site.

I added Bob Graham from Queensland and Sibylle Krieger from NSW to the pool of experts from which DRP members are drawn. Their CVs are on the web site.

The website has been updated with most of the current forms and documents.

Informed by the learnings from the applications of compensation for scheduling errors, there is a new guidance note for uncontested scheduling errors (check the website). This streamlines the process for those matters providing acces to a more simple and efficient DRP which has the role of ensuring the matters set out in the Rules are considered and provides a cost effective mechanism for making these claims.

The plan for 2011

I am starting the planning for 2011. If there are any matters you would like to see addressed, or any services that would be useful, please let me know.

In the interim, I am completing the resources and information sections of the web site. I attach an updated user note for the form and content of a DMS.

On Tuesday 22 February 2011 I will be running a half-day session on the DMS in Sydney. This workshop will cover:

  • More details on the guidance note - how to design and implement a DMS
  • Tools and tips
  • Integration of a DMS into the organisation
  • Case study

Following the workshop I will be releasing a new sample DMS (form D8a). Please RSVP your interest in the training so I can book a venue.

Also any other ideas for Adviser Agenda for 2011.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely
