Terms of Use
By viewing, posting or commenting on our social media channels, you agree to comply with:
- the terms of use of the relevant platform (such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X or YouTube), and
- these guidelines.
You must not post material that:
- is obscene, offensive, abusive, threatening or hateful
- discriminates against, vilifies or incites hatred based on personal characteristics
- is defamatory or misleading
- infringes intellectual property rights
- contains personal information about yourself or others
- promotes commercial interests or overtly party-political content
- relates to matters before the courts or could breach a court order
- is irrelevant to the topic or designed to disrupt discussion.
You must also not impersonate another person or use our channels to harass or target individuals or organisations.
Moderation and Enforcement
We may take action if you breach these terms of use. This can include:
- hiding or removing your comments
- suspending or permanently blocking your ability to engage with our channels
- reporting your behaviour to the relevant social media platform provider and, where appropriate, law enforcement authorities
- taking any other action we consider appropriate.
These actions are at our discretion. We may change these terms of use at any time.
How the AER responds on social media
The AER monitors its social media channels Monday to Friday, 10am to 3pm AEST/AEDT.
